Chinese company OnePlus launched its next-generation flagship phone, aka the OnePlus 3 in India on Tuesday at a price of Rs 27,999 for the top-tier 6GB RAM and 64GB memory variant. The company will start selling the OnePlus 3 via regular open sale method — without invites — from 12.30 AM IST (June 15) exclusively through Amazon India.As expected, OnePlus launched the OnePlus 3 in VR just like it did with the OnePlus 2. Only this time, it is extending the use of the platform beyond the launch event. It comes with a front-mounted fingerprint scanner which is claimed to unlock the phone in mere 0.2 seconds. It supports both physical capacitive and on-screen navigation buttons and the usual array of sensors like accelerometer, gyroscope and proximity sensors. The phone comes with curved 2.5D Corning Gorilla glass 4.OnePlus’ third-generation flagship phone rocks Qualcomm’s latest and greatest mobile processor, aka Snapdragon 820 (clocked up to 2.2GHz) with 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal memory which is non-expandable. The phone supports 4G LTE and NFC connectivity options and runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-based OxygetOS 3.1.2 out-of-the-box. The OnePlus 3 offers near-stock Android experience with few additions like Shelf recent apps and quick contacts aggregator and system-wide Dark Theme thrown in.The OnePlus 3 sports a 16-megapixel camera (Sony IMX 298) on the rear with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and Optical Image Stabilisation. The rear snapper is capable of recording time-lapse, 4K video and RAW file format. The accompanying Dash Charger is capable of charging the phone to up to 60 per cent in just 30 minutes. Moreover, the Dash charger has been made in a way that shifts most of the power management processes from the phone to itself so the phone doesn’t get hot while charging.The OnePlus 3 will be available in two colour options: Graphite and Soft Gold. While the Graphite variant will be available soon after launch, the Soft Gold version will be available at a later date.
