A headon collision from a firstperson perspective

first_imgGovernment campaigns to cut road accidents always try to shock people into driving more carefully and pay better attention to the road. Sometimes they even do something crazy like place a 3D image of a little girl in the street to slow down drivers.Well, I think they are doing it wrong. Most people only pay attention to such advertising on TV once. What you need to do is show off accidents from a perspective not possible with real actors, like the above CG piece by Vimeo poster “uiralamour”. I’d certainly watch this every time it came on TV just for the sheer quality of the work on display. The two-minute piece was created for a graduation project in Film and Video. It uses 3D Studio Max, Vray, Rayfire, Zbrush, Nuke, and AE. All of which add up to a very realistic portrayal of someone travelling headfirst through their own car windscreen after a collision.Remember, focus on the road when driving, and adjust your iPod volume before setting off on your journey.Read more at CGTalk, via Jalopniklast_img read more
