Quite why counties agreed to allow third-level colleges into their pre-season competitions remains a mystery.“Here’s the daft scenario facing county managers: officially, they are not allowed to organise collective training until January 1 for a league that starts five weeks later.“Colleges generally have first call on inter-county players in January, so how is a county manager supposed to get his team ready for the league?
