Warnings will “be issued for one week, with citations to resume June 9,” according to the report prepared by Jon Hamblen, City Parking Manager. The same June 2 and 9 dates also apply to residential neighborhood time limit enforcement.People who use overnight permits have more time to prepare to pay: the warning period would begin June 15, with citations to resume July 1.The same June 15 and July 1 dates apply to street sweeping enforcement.“We wanted to have more time to resume overnight parking enforcement to give Parking Office staff time to ensure that all permit applications were reviewed and fulfilled, and to give us more time to alert the residents,” said Hamblen.Hamblen recommended against extending free parking periods at meters and in city-owned garages.“While free parking may seem appealing on the surface, it inevitably leads to both customers and employees of the area taking parking spaces on a long-term basis which reduces turnover and the overall number of guests that are able to conveniently park and patronize local businesses,” according to the report. The Department of Transportation estimates it lost out on approximately $6,000 in parking revenue during the pandemic.Vehicle booting and impounds could resume August 1, according to the report. De Gea: Van Gaal will boost United

first_img “He’s a very good coach and I think he’s going to bring a lot to Manchester United, important and innovative ideas and I think he’s going to be very good for us.” Van Gaal’s predecessor David Moyes was criticised for negative tactics in his doomed nine-month spell in charge at Old Trafford, but De Gea believes the former Ajax, Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach will get United playing more exciting football again. “He’s going to help us a lot because he’s going to bring a different style of play,” he added. Spain’s third choice goalkeeper behind Iker Casillas and Pepe Reina, De Gea will be watching the game from the dugout, and revealed he has been speaking to Van Persie about it. “I’ve sent him the odd message. He’s a great player and we’ll have to follow him closely. I hope that he has a quiet game,” the stopper noted. De Gea has spent the last three seasons with United and explained he was delighted to be playing his football in England. He added: “It’s a great place to play football, the fans respect you a lot, it’s wondrous.” The goalkeeper will be sitting just a few metres away from his new boss on Friday evening when Holland face Spain in the World Cup Group B opener in Salvador de Bahia, and will also be watching team-mate Robin van Persie lead the Dutch attack. “He has won everything as a coach,” De Gea said of Holland coach Van Gaal in an interview with Marca. INX Media case HC allows CBI to submit additional documents in Chidambarams

first_imgNew Delhi: The Delhi High Court Monday allowed a plea by the CBI for taking on record additional submissions in the anticipatory bail plea of former Union minister P Chidambaram in connection with the INX media case. Justice Sunil Gaur took the submissions on record and again reserved the order on the anticipatory bail of the senior Congress leader. The court had earlier on January 25 reserved its order on Chidambaram’s anticipatory bail plea in the cases lodged by the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Also Read – How a psychopath killer hid behind the mask of a devout laity! In the INX Media case, the CBI had registered an FIR on May 15, 2017 alleging irregularities in the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) clearance granted to the media group for receiving overseas funds to the tune of Rs 305 crore in 2007 during Chidambaram’s tenure as finance minister in the UPA I government. The ED lodged a money laundering case in this regard last year. In its application filed through central government standing counsel Ripu Daman Bhardwaj, the CBI said it wanted to file additional submission regarding ongoing investigation in larger interest of justice. Also Read – Encounter under way in Pulwama, militant killed Earlier, while opposing the anticipatory bail plea, the CBI and the ED had asserted that custodial interrogation of Chidambaram was required in the case as he was evasive during questioning. The high court had reserved its order and said that the interim protection from arrest granted to Chidambaram will continue till the decision is passed on his plea for anticipatory bail. It had on July 25, 2018 granted interim protection from arrest to Chidambaram in both the cases and it was extended from time to time. The senior Congress leader’s role had come under the scanner of various investigating agencies in the Rs 3,500-crore Aircel-Maxis deal and the INX Media case involving Rs 305 crore. It was during his tenure as finance minister that clearances from the FIPB were given to the two ventures. A trial court here had also on May 30, 2018 directed the ED not to take coercive action against Chidambaram in the Aircel-Maxis money laundering case. He was also granted protection from arrest in the Aircel-Maxis case, in which he and his son Karti have been named in the charge sheet filed by the CBI. The interim protection has been extended from time to time. Chidambaram’s petition had said that though no summons had ever been served on him by the ED in this case, he had an apprehension of arrest in view of the summons issued to him by the CBI, which was investigating the scheduled offence.last_img read more
