(Credit: Aker Solutions) Norwegian offshore oilfield equipment maker Aker Solutions has signed a letter of intent with Equinor to supply a subsea production system to the Kristin Sør oil and gas satellite fields offshore Norway. The Kristin Sør development comprises the Lavrans and Kristin Q fields, both satellites to the existing Kristin platform.Under the contract, which is valued at about NOK1bn ($114.3m), Aker Solutions will deliver a subsea template with four of Aker Solutions’ standardized vertical subsea trees for the Lavrans Centre to enable shorter time from project start to first oil.The scope of the delivery will also include a manifold for the Kristin Q field. It will be installed in the Kristin Q template. The contract is subject to a final investment decision and final regulatory approval.Aker Solutions CEO Kjetel Digre said: “With improved technical solutions and cost levels for subsea technology, development of satellite fields is attractive for several oil companies.“This is also a responsible approach to utilizing marginal resources with a minimum of new installations. We see that an increasing number of our subsea projects are related to such satellite projects.”Aker to complete delivery in 2023Aker Solutions plans to commence work in 2021 and complete the delivery in the first half of 2023.As part of the contract work, the company plans to involve its operations in Tranby, Egersund and Ågotnes in Norway, Curitiba in Brazil, Reading in the UK and Port Klang in Malaysia.Additionally, the firm will manufacture the subsea trees at the facility in Curitiba.Digre added: “This award demonstrates that our standardized solutions are competitive and has the flexibility to also be applied on fields with demanding temperature and pressure conditions.“We have over time cooperated closely with Equinor in the development and optimization of such equipment, and we are pleased to continue this close collaboration in the new Kristin Sør project.”Aker Solutions said that the standardized tree, which is designed with Vectus control systems and reduced use of steel, will contribute to approximately 50% reduced weight as well as reduced costs, simplified installation, and operations. In a press statement, Aker Solutions said: “The Kristin Sør concept solution is a result of efficient collaboration with Equinor in the front-end phase in parallel with research and development in the Tranby Technology Center.”Recently, Aker Solutions secured a contract from Equinor for its Peregrino oil field, offshore Brazil. Create a Glitch Effect in Premiere Pro in 3 Steps

first_imgWant to create a glitch effect without any plugins in Adobe Premiere Pro? Just follow the 3 easy steps in this video tutorial. The glitch effect has become insanely popular in the past few years. It’s in music videos, promos, and all over social media. It’s easy to assume that this effect is hard to pull off, since most of the tutorials you see on creating the effect are made in After Effects, or they require you to buy an expensive plugin. So if you don’t have much experience in AE, we’ve found the easiest glitch tutorial on the web from Peter McKinnon on how to create a glitchy transition in three easy steps using Premiere Pro. It’s pretty rudimentary, but it gets the job done quickly.Let’s get started!Step 1: Cutting up Your ClipImport your clip, and throw it on to your timeline. To create a kind of strobe effect, slice up your clip a few frames at a time over a short distance. Then, delete some of the sliced up pieces to incorporate the “cut in and out” look. Make sure to switch it up to make it a bit random — make some cuts at only two frames, and the others at five frames.Step 2: Duplication and Opacity ShiftingNow, when you’ve got your split-up timeline ready to go, take the clips that are still on your timeline and duplicate a second layer for all of them by holding Alt + Click, and dragging the duplicated clip to the V2 track in your timeline. From there, open up the video effects of the first duplicated clip. All you have to do is reduce the opacity to about 50%, and then shift the positioning just a little bit off of the original clip. This will create that ghosting effect people look for in a glitch. Move on over to your second clip and do the same, but this time zoom in a little bit using the scale tool to make this glitch a bit different from the first one.Step 3: RGB Splitting and Color EnhancingTo make that glitch effect really soak in, shift the color of the V2 clip to make a cool RGB split effect. If you want to stay within Lumetri color for this, just go crazy with the saturation, tint, and exposure. Since the opacity is only at 50%, the intense color correction will blend in with the original clip to create the look you want.If you really want to shift the color to a deep RGB tint, throw on the Arithmetic effect from your effects panel. This effect will allow you to go deep into the RGB settings of your clip. Change the Operator dropdown settings to Max, and then shift the RGB color of your choice: Red Value, Green Value, or Blue Value. This will bring a heavy dose of stark color contrast to your glitched clip. To blend it in with the original clip, go to the opacity settings, and change it to Linear Color Dodge (add). This final blending cultivates an insane colorscape for your glitched-out sequence, adding to the surreal look you want.Want to Try It Out in After Effects? If you find this tutorial a little simple and want to customize your glitch even more, maybe it’s time to graduate to After Effects. Our own Josh Noel has a killer tutorial on how to really dive in to using the glitch effect on graphics and videos in AE, and incorporating RGB Splitting, Displacement Distortion, and Noise to hone in on that “fuzzed-up” glitch look you find in your grandma’s old VHS tapes. Check out the article or the video above to try it out!In case you have no time to work on your own glitch effects, Shutterstock offers this powerful collection of glitch effects and transitions to use in your projects. Give Them Confidence (A Note to the Sales Manager)

first_imgYou are responsible for the salesperson you are providing your clients. When you hire, you can easily believe your are hiring for your company, but you’re really hiring for your clients and prospects. The salesperson you put in front of your client needs to create value for them.Your success as a sales leader depends upon the success of the individual salespeople that make up your team. Sending out salespeople who lack the confidence to sell breeds a lack of confidence in your clients and prospects. Send them out with the confidence to succeed and to produce that confidence in your clients and prospects.Give Them TrainingYour salespeople gain confidence when you train them to create value for your clients. When you look at the best organizations in the world you find the best training programs in the world. This is true of sports teams, military organizations, orchestras, ballets, rock bands, and some companies. The best organizations in the world are well rehearsed. They study. They’re continually improving their skills and constantly receiving feedback. What do your salespeople need trained in to be confident in their ability to create value for your clients? What skills do they need for your clients to be confident in their ability to help them make the buying decision they’re making?Training improves confidence. You know where you are. You know your part. You know what you are supposed to be doing to achieve the outcomes you need. To your clients and prospects, this looks like confidence and competence.Prepare Them to Create ValueThere is no reason to allow your sales force to make sales calls without planning for that call. Unprepared salespeople don’t create value; they’re just nice guests. It’s easy to get trapped in spending time evaluating territory plans, reviewing pipelines, and strategizing on opportunities. But the moment of truth for sales organization occurs when the salesperson sits down across from their client or prospect. They either create enough value to deserve the next commitment or they don’t.A good sales call plan takes into account what the buyer needs from the sales call, what the salesperson needs from the call, and the outcomes both need in order to move forward. Knowing where you are and where you are going improves confidence, and it’ sales mistake to believe the buyer has a process (much of the time they want to be led).If the client isn’t confident in the salesperson’s ability to help them, they aren’t going to agree to move forward. If the salesperson isn’t confident about how to create that value, neither the salesperson nor the client are going to be confident moving forward together.Your clients and prospects expect a well trained, well prepared, confident, value creating salesperson. This gives them the confidence to say yes.last_img read more

La Liga planning to name an award in Messis name

first_imgLa Liga president Javier Tebas has opened up on his desire to name an award after FC Barcelona star Lionel Messi, considering his contribution to the league.“It would depend on Leo Messi but I’d love to have a La Liga award in his name… If he finishes his career in Spain, or most of it, I don’t believe anyone has contributed more to the competition.”Tebas, a Real Madrid fan, nonetheless believes that Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure to Juventus has only strengthened the importance of Messi to La Liga. “Yes, the fact Cristiano Ronaldo has gone to Serie A means he’s even more important,” he said, as cited by Barcablaugranes.David Villa, FC BarcelonaTop 10 players who played for both Barcelona and Valencia Boro Tanchev – September 14, 2019 Time to talk about the best players who represented both Barcelona and Valencia, prior to their La Liga encounter at Camp Nou this evening.Tebas also once again argued in favor of a Barcelona-Girona match taking place in Miami. “Our objective, of course, is that the match is played outside of Spain. Our objective is that it’ll be played on the 26th of January. I believe we have the right to do that and we’ll fight for it until the end.”The league president also spoke about rumors of Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar returning to La Liga. “I would like to see Neymar in Spain again, I don’t care which team,” he stated. The Brazilian has been linked with a return to FC Barcelona as well as a switch to Real Madrid.last_img read more

Inzaghi admits Napoli deserved win amid controversy

first_imgLazio boss Simone Inzaghi admits Napoli deserved their 2-1 victory but fumed at the sending off of Francesco Acerbi.Jose Callejon and Arkadiusz Milik put the host in the ascendancy before half-time before Ciro Immobile pulled one back for Inzaghi’s men.“Napoli played better than we did and certainly deserved to win, but having said that, on the first yellow card, Callejon was clever to get in front of Acerbi and then stop, ensuring the defender had to run into him,” the Coach told Football Italia.“As for the second booking, he clearly got the ball and it was not even a foul. I noticed that, I got angry, but these incidents do keep happening to us.”The Biancocelesti improved considerably when Joaquin Correa came off the bench.“Correa is a resource for us and he had started the last six games, missing the Coppa Italia because he had flu. Our first-half performance was bad, we were too passive, Napoli deservedly took the lead.“There were 25 minutes left when we got back into the game, with XI against XI who knows how it would’ve ended? It’s a regret, but we have been unlucky recently.Top 5 Serie A players to watch for next weekend’s activity Tomás Pavel Ibarra Meda – September 11, 2019 With the international activity cooling down for the next month, we go back to the Top 5 players to watch in Serie A next…“We went down to 10 men against Inter as well, although I had no complaints about the Senad Lulic second yellow. This evening, I didn’t agree with either of the two bookings for Acerbi.“As I said, Napoli didn’t steal anything, they deserved to win. They hit the woodwork four times, although the Jose Callejon chance was offside so wouldn’t have counted, and we went too deep for long periods.“It’s going to be a fight to the end between many different teams for a place in Europe.”#NapoliLazioLazio first goal scored by Immobile pic.twitter.com/9Z9KSzgzGK— Abdullah (@Osty_99) January 20, 2019last_img read more
